Summary Of 32 days In May
32 Days In Mays by Betty Corrello focuses on Nadia Fabiola who wants to lose herself in Evergreen—the Jersey Shore town where she grew up vacationing with her family—and never look back at her glamorous, gainfully employed former self. After a shocking lupus diagnosis turned her life upside down, she’s desperate for a sense of control over her body, her life, and her mental health. Nadia plans on keeping her life small and boring, while continuing to ignore her sister’s relentless questioning.
Nadia’s sister isn’t the only person worried about her. When her rheumatologist not-so-subtly sets her up with his infamous former-actor cousin, Marco Antoniou, Nadia is skeptical. But Marco is gorgeous—despite carrying his own baggage from a very public burnout. After a messy (but fun) first date, they decide that a May-long fling could be just what the doctor no commitment, no strings, just one month of escape.

Their undeniable chemistry starts to feel a lot like something more and while Marco pulls Nadia deeper into his life, she is dead set on keeping her diagnosis from him. But there are only so many days in May, and only so much pretending she can do. As the stress of their whirlwind romance takes its toll on Nadia’s health, she’s forced to decide if a chance at love is worth the risk of trusting someone new.
Travel from the Jersey Shore to Rome and back in this delightfully funny, beautifully honest exploration of love, intimacy, and vulnerability while living with a chronic illness.

Reviews
The connection between these two characters was insane! You could feel their chemistry from the moment they met and it just kept getting better. I loved that they could flirt and banter, but also have thoughtful conversations. Even with the secrets they were keeping, there was depth to their interactions.
32 days In May was very different than any contemporary romance I have read, and I think that’s a good thing. The cover and the description weren’t super appealing to me, to be frank, but I picked this up for a video series I am working on. and from the jump, I was very intrigued. our heroine has a recent lupus diagnosis that she handles very differently than other heroines with chronic illness I have read. she falls for our hero very quickly. and there isn’t a ton of emotional vulnerability in the traditional sense.
Her writing style is very much right up my alley, and I felt every single emotion while reading this novel. Her humor and heart shine through in each sentence she writes. Her banter is top-notch. The emotions here are raw, deep, realistic, vulnerable, honest, tender, a little manic, and intricate. Nadia and Marco are both extremely flawed individuals, but they are both so compelling as main characters. Their chemistry is off-the-chart.
Overview Of 32 Days In May
In 32 Days in May, Betty Corrello delivers a poignant and refreshingly honest exploration of romance and resilience. 32 days In May walks a delicate tightrope, offering both the escapist pleasures of romance while refusing to sugarcoat the realities of navigating a life-altering diagnosis. What emerges is a story that feels profoundly authentic, often uncomfortably so, while still delivering the warmth and humor romance readers crave.
Following her acclaimed debut “Summertime Punchline,” Corrello returns to the Jersey Shore with an 32 Days In May that tackles the messy intersection of illness, identity, and love with remarkable insight. Perhaps the novel’s greatest strength is its depiction of chronic illness, specifically lupus. Corrello captures the daily reality of living with an autoimmune disease with unflinching accuracy.
What sets “32 Days in May” apart from other “sick lit” is its refusal to make illness the entire character arc. Nadia’s lupus is simultaneously central to her story and just one facet of her complex life.
