Meg Mitchell Moore’s official website reveals that Mansion Beach is a “sophisticated escapist novel filled with light humor and surprising observations, Mansion Beach explores the depth of human relationships, our cruelly classist society, and the price of secrets that refuse to stay buried.”
In her latest novel, Moore once again delves into the intricate themes of wealth, privilege, and secrecy that have defined her previous books like Summer Stage and The Islanders.

Focusing on character development and emotional nuance, she crafts a narrative where personal transformation takes center stage. Her characters undergo tremendous transformations as they navigate the unforeseen circumstances.
The plot of Mansion Beach unfolds with a quiet intensity, drawing readers into a world where appearances are deceptive and every revelation carries unalterable repurcussions in the characters’ emotional and psychological landscapes.
Three Women
Mansion Beach portrays the lives and journeys of three women, Nicola, Juliana and Taylor. Nicola arrives at Block Island to embark on her spiritual journey, where she stays at a wealthy cottage of her cousin David.
David’s wife Taylor Buchanan, who is second in command of a extravagant real estate Empire.
Nicola’s becomes inquisitive about the parties at her next door neighbour who turns out to be the enigmatic, Juliana. She is the founder and CEO of a hot fashion-tech company, but all that glitters is not gold.
Juliana’s mysterious past comes to haunt her present, as a well guarded secret comes unraveling. However, she happily participates in the chaos—until she is thrust to the brink of collapse, from where she cannot return.
Moore’s retrospective narration provides an exposition into the characters motivations and divulges information about their past. Through a shifting point of view, the narration goes back and forth between separate timelines.
Thus, readers are kept hooked to their seat as they witness the unfolding of characters lives and secrets. In this process, the pretentions come unraveling and the characters of Nicola, Juliana and Taylor are left to deal the consequences of their actions.
