Review

This book was the greatest cure for my soul, with its dark, clever humor! I howled with laughter! I guffawed! I never imagined I could have so much fun reading a dark thriller, but I did—it was incredibly entertaining!I found the book’s style of dry humor wonderfully entertaining. It’s an intelligent, mind boggling tale that kept me totally engaged. Maybe a smarter person could figure out the villain, but I sure couldn’t.

Reviews

This is the first book in the series that I couldn’t rate a fourth or fifth star. Perhaps, it was accommodating Marine’s pregnancy, but the narrative was choppy lacking the spirit born of place and relationship that marked the earlier offerings. On the plus side, Verlaque’s fondness for cigars was hinted at without the long diversions that we put up with in some of the episodes.

The story of traveling to Scotland for a job with all the new experiences that Delaney is having with people driving on the wrong side of the road and the language is so real – and the tour the author gives us of the century old buildings, the closes, and the people keeps the reader spellbound and unable to put the novel down
